MANAGING OUR PATIENCE (PART I)

Managing our patience is in proportion to managing our emotion, whereas emotion has to do with our memory as well as our experience. Whenever something bad happens to us, it possibly would stimulate our response of emotion. Emotion has a close relationship with what we call as life value. As something against our life value happens, our response of emotion will immediately appear.

Emotion is an energy which is able to influence our life. That is why emotional intelligence has a pivotal role in someone's life. We go through some experiences which bring about any kinds of energy that affect our feeling and our daily life as well. Some energy are powerful and are recognized so easily Meanwhile, some other energy are sensed only based on intuition. Things that are being spoken, being thought, or being conducted, will produce energy which influence us as well as people around us.

Allah Subhaanahuu Wa Ta'aalaa has been exceptionally Merciful as to provide us with tips to remain steadfast in times of trial.

"Wasta'iinuu bisshabri was shalaah wa innahaa lakabiiratun illaa 'alal khaasyi'iin : And seek help in patience and shalat and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for humbly submissive (to Allah)" (Qur'an Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 45).

The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him never expressed his anger with his hand. Instead, he used only mild words. In fact those that did not know him well did not even suspect that he was angry. He preferred to be queit rather than expressing his anger openly. His anger was purely for the sake of God, he did not fly off the handle, rant and rave, or make people fear to be in his presence.

Emotion is very natural for human, but anger is very powerful and can vary in intensity from mild irritation to intense fury and rage. Intense fury and rage itself can be destructive. For it can create a desire for revenge and push a person to strike out at the object of his anger. It is impossible for someone to avoid it completely, because it is natural. However, it is possible for us to understand anger and thus control it.

SubhaanaKallaahumma Wa Bi HamdiKa Asyhadu allaa ilaaha illaa Anta astaghfiruKa wa atuubu IlaiKa.
